  1. Look at the above post, thats what was wrong with it and now it runs fine!
  2. Well it hasn't got an immobiliser so i'm sure it was never going to be that. It turned out to be my ECU relay, it was getting hot and cutting out.
  3. I may have found the problem, it only seems to me messing around when the car is off choke so it's pointing to the lambda sensor! What does anyone else think?
  4. I'm not sure if this is anything to do with my problem but when i start the car on the dash a code flashes up, it says "10 02"
  5. The donor was a 1993k reg Mk3 golf coil pack car. What do the diagnostic ports look like i'm not sure if there still in the loom.
  6. I'm in Ely so i'm not that far from shepreth but my car has run out of MOT now! I have disconnected the maf and it nearly died completely. I have remembered that the breather pipe that goes from the rocker cover to the inlet pipe was split and i haven't replaced it yetso air can get in there, would that make th engine run rough?
  7. Hi, Last week i took my mk2 vr6 conversion for it's first drive and it was great, it pulled really well and ticked over very well at just under 1000rpm. The car has been sitting for a week as i work abroad. I satrted the car today and it's like a diffrent car. The car now ticks over at just over 500rpm and it sounds as though it is hunting the whole time. When i drove the car it feels like it's holding back all through the rev range and there is a huge flat spot at about 4000rpm, it also pops and bangs when you let off even at slow speeds.   8. Hi, I have just completed my vr6 conversion but i've found out that when i flash my lights my horn sounds! What have i done wrong?
  9. I'm using the standard mk2 90spec loom for lighting etc and just the mk3 vr6 loom for the engine.
  10. Hi guys, I am trying to finish off my vr6 conversion but i have now discovered that the indicators and the hzards don't work! I am using the mk2 stalks at the moment if this is the problem, i do have the mk3 stals if i need them. Tim
  11. Don't worry guys i've fixed it! I sat next to the fuse box while the car was running and when it cut out one of the relays clicked. so i changed the ecu relay and it runs. It must of been getting hot and switching off!

Hi Guys, My mk2 vr6 conversion will start just fine and run perfect for about 10-15 seconds the cut out, then when i try to start it again it struggles on turn over then starts and stops straight away. Then you leave the car for 5 mins and it will do the same again just run for 10-15 seconds. It's like it's not getting enough fuel! The engine is an OBD1 so it shouldn't be an imobiliser as it doesn't have one, could it be a fuel pump relay? I really need some help as it getting to be a pain in the a**e now, i just want to drive it!!! Tim
  13. Yes all the engine, loom and ecu came from the same car. I'm not sure of the ecu number as i work in France so i won't be able to work on the car for the next two weeks but the ecu has a non soldered chip.
