    iv checked the immobiliser for faults. no faults. put vagcom on it today and 00282 Throttle Position Actuator -V60 was there. it was a struggle to start but it did go.

    said did not carry on so the beer offer is removed until new solution is acquired.the car runs much better but still cuts out now and again, especially when the revs are 3000+. vagcom still reports engine speed sensor signal implaussible! testing times...

    iv changed the fuel pump relay and its been happy motoring from then!!!! if said carrys on then i would like to buy "bodge" a crate of beer or a few bottles of rose to extend my many thanks for his guidence.......... cheers!

    when the engine runs for a while when hot it cuts out. leave it 10 mins to cool a bit then it will start. when u start the engine cold it wont cut out until it reaches 90 degrees. temp related probem??

    just did vagcom on it. it says engine speed sensor, implaussible signal. time to upgrade to a mk 4 4motion me thinks!

    hey all. just starting to lose the head with this scrapheap!!!!!!!!!!!!! had a problem with the car dying when its warm. then starting up 10 mins later???? got vagcom, which told me its the camshaft sensor. so replaced that!!! then it happened again. grrrrrr!! got vagcom on it again which told me its the crankshaft sensor. so just replaced that and was driving last nite and as usual it dies!!!! waited 10 mins and then away it went. 100 yards later death again. this continued until home 450 yards later!!!!! any ideas welcomed!!

    defo not ignition switch. dont think its earth. tried battering the starter. works on a push start. doesnt when the keys turned!!!! tedious stuff.,

    too wet for that carry on. decided to down a few cold ones instead! much more appealling have you ever heard of a starter failing? my mate works at a garage and they've never heard of it.

    i fitted it. not paying some apprentice to do an easy job! maybe thats my downfall!! my car overheated last week spilled water on the fan control unit and fecked that. connected???? how do you test the starter when its off? gettin sick of pushing the car to go anywhere. neighbours must be laughing at me, im always tinkering with it!!!!!

    checked earth leads and there all sound.next step will be taking the starter out i think and throwing it back at vw!!!!!!!!

    voltage at both. haven't checked the earth yet. too cold! had a lead from the engine to the chassis and then to the battery negative. still nothing!!!! gave the car a push start and everything seems ok when running.

    it clicks. tried battering the starter aswell. still nothing. do you think it could be the starter?

    tried the jump leads. tried putting a lead from the engine to the chassis. it works from a push start. im going to be bald if this carries on!!!!!!!!!!!

    brand new starter. il check the earth cable when the snow stops! do you think putting jump leads from my engine onto my van would help? getting desperate now!!

    tried wiggling the key. still nothing!!!! im getting the voltage when i turn the key on the small wire to the starter. wheres does the neutral connect to the chassis?????

    hey all. my car is costing me a fortune. got the starter fixed couple of weeks ago because it wasnt starting; problem solved! got in the car 2day and nothing!!!!!!!!!!!! checked voltage at battery, 12 volts. then checked power at starter 11.75 volts. surely it cant be the starter again?????????????
