i was told to keep it off ? will it damege the car if i leave it off were can i get one and how much are thay ? what does it do

Hi this is going to be hard to explane but will try my best !! right thers nothink wrong with the car what i can see but the bloke i got it from said he took a part from the car off as he said they all ways mess up not sure whats it called so will try and explane what he told me it does ok RIGHT WHEN YOU TRUN THE CAR OFF IT STILL PUMPS WATER ARROUND THE ENGINE TO HELP KEEP IT COOL !!!!! theys just a peace off copper pipe there now he told me not to put one back on !!! PLEASE HELP ME !!!
