hi i have a mk3 golf vr6 and changed from the end of 4th into 3rd by accident and now have a loud knocking noise coming from the engine it didnt start straight after i changed gear about 10 mins after it gets faster and louder as i rev i have taken it off the road so i dont do any more damage but need to diagnose the problem and dont know were to start im thinking it could be bottom end bearing but am told they are not a common problem any hel will be much appreciated thanks dave
