    Hi. My VR6 has a full closure alarm, Whether it was a standard thing or a optional extra i dont know, Anyway when i bought the car off my dad i was 22 so needed a up to date cat 1 immobiliser. To cut a long story short the company that fitted it made a right mess and caused the car to not start when hot, I got someone to sort it but they disconnected the original alarm system ( the clowns that fitted the immob obviously connected into that and somehow caused the problems, I dont know how or why ) anyway does anyone have a diagram of a VW alarm system as i am going to have a go at connecting th

    Hi. I need to get a new air filter as my ramair one is horrible and dirty and has rips in it, I believe they dont make the same one anymore ( thinkits the supa-ram, Its the big one! ) so just wondered whats everyones opinions regarding the best filter for the VR6. Its a 97 model. Thanks in advance.

    Hi. I have a unknown SS exhaust on my 97 Golf VR6, Its been on there since the car was about a year old, Recently it started to sound different, Not the same tone as it was imo and with what can only be described as a vibrating noise that is only really apparant at higher speeds, Then last night on the way home it was horrendous, especially at between 70-80 mph, the whole car was vibrating. Does this sound like the exhaust or could it be a wheel bearing?/ Thanks in advance

    Ok thanks' date=' I always post things in the wrong sections on forums!!. I found another couple of pics of the car. Its basically standard, S/S Exhaust, Ramair filter, Magnicor Leads, Konis with 17" OZ Super T GT'S. As for coming along to tatton park, Yes i will see if i can get the day off from work.     Thanks fellas, Yes its a clean car. Probably helped to the fact its been on the isle of man ( Hence my username!! ) since it was 18 mths old and theres no crime there whatsoever!. Its not perfect as i have had to use it in all weathers but it was used on dry days only and as a 3rd car for 3 years. I wasn't going to look into this yet but whats the best way to get good power from a VR6?, I was initially hoping to go down the turbo or supercharger route but i am worried about the ccost, Any help or thoughts would be great.     Hi. I have just registered so i thought id post a pic of my car. Its a 97 VR6, Bought when 18 months old by my dad, I then bought it off him. Its only covered 50k miles and is in very good condition. I have had to start using it everyday now since i bought a concours S1 Escort RS Turbo and need 1 car i can actually use!. It needs a bit of paintwork as there was a tiny bubble that appeared and the supposed good bodyshop have made it worse now, That plus a couple of dings from w@nkers whilst its been left in carparks. I want more power so in the next few months i am going to look into the option
