    It`s sorted now, took it to an electrician to check it out for me, ended up being a dodgy second hand ignition switch that was at fault, all sorted now though, well worth £20, time to drive her now, thanks for the replys anyway lads.

    Hi Matty, do you mean the earth that is built on to the started motor? I`ll check that today then, thanks.

    I think the starter relay is working, as when i turn the ignition to start i hear a relay click out in the inside fuse box, something silly i would say, just finding it...

    It could be a wire i suppose, just strange it went all of a sudden, i`ll get on the case tomoz, thanks Cabrio, Matty, i think the starter motor earth is earthed to the gear box where it bolts mate..

    Hi all im new on here so hello all, ive just purchsed a golf vr6 highline, ive only done 11 mile in her before she decided not to start again, Just got in turned the key "nothing", so i took the ignition barrel off had that checked and replaced with a new switch, put it back on the car still nothing, removed the cat 1 alarm as i thought it could be something there, still nothing, took the starter motor off and stuck it on a battery and that works fine, the car will bump and drive fine just nothing off the key, i have found that the little power wire on the starter is getting no power, Checked
