  1. hi i have a bit of a problem, i replaced the head gasket on the golf and when i ran the car after i could here a noise from the chain end of the block. so i removed the top covers and the chain between the cam sprockets has some play in it. so i removed the box and replaced the top two guides and the rear bolt tensioner. but i still have movement in the chain. please help am i doing something wrong or is that how it is till it has been run for a bit. cheers adam
  2. i did what i thought was right. i held it in a tub of new oil and squeezed the ends together, does this re oil the bolt or am i diong it wrong. cheers mate
  3. i have just changed the headgasket on my golf once it was all back together i started it and it sounded great. but after a couple of mins running i started hearing noise from the timing chain end. a bit of investigating i found the upper tensioner that bolts through the back had a split in the inner washer, so i have replaced it with a new one. just started the car again and still the same noise it does not seem that there is any tension on the upper chain. when i had the head off i did see that the rear guide did look a little worn but not enough to worry about. please help im baffled at the
