how easy is it to change the thermostat novice

no,done all the basic stuff,stat is good hot and cold,thanks thou.

My expansion bottle goes from max to min in about 1 hour but no farther,only possible place there might be a leak in from a gasket on left hand side of engine,i say this because it looks like some-one has changed a gasket at some point,maybe radweld!!!! suggestions welcome please thank you
