There is a whining sound when the car is in 4th gear doing 55mph, it goes as the car accelerates. Could it be the gearbox oil?

Yes it only started sine the new shocks were put on. Are bump stops easy to install?

The rear wheels are rubbing when there are two people sitting in the rear., I have had new shocks all round and the rear bushes have been done, all parks VW and i have the standard alloys on. Its a 1997 Golf VR6 with 84k on the clock. The car is standard. I rechon i need new rear springs. Any advice out there?
