So is this box the idle stabilization valve? M9G

look at this............ http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?106705 On the second picture down the throttle is on the left if you look far right in the piccy there is a black square (ish) box. This is the box I am on about I have taken it off again because it really sounds like it has an air leak as can hear it but there are absolutely no signs of any cracks or holes. This is on an early VR6, can anyone who has one please start your engine and listen to this box and tell me if it sounds like it has an air leak, a definate hissing. Just wondering if it's suppose to be l

yep there is a small thin pipe going into it from the intake air pipe and then there is two bigger pipes coming off one end going underneath the plastic cover. M9G

took the little box off and all seems ok, made sure no cracks or anything but it sounds like theres a hissing from it. It can be seen easy enough, it literally is dead centre at the back of the engine up the top, pop the bonnet and can see it, it maybe something like a gas recirculation system M9G

Hi I have a 92 VR6 and have noticed that the car hunts very very slightly and the rev counter just bobs up and down slightly. Thinking maybe air filter plugs air leaks etc etc I have just bought this car so pretty new to the VR6 scene On driving the car I can feel that slight hunt when driving quite slowly but as I get faster it seems to go. I noticed behind the carb at the back of the engine is a black plastic box which is about the size of a fag packet and has a pipe going into it at one end and 2 pipes ay the other end I can hear air leaking or beening sucked in on this box, which I feel ca
