there was a big spring in the horn mechanism of the wheel that wasn t bent out far enough to make contact with the hub and therefore wasnt creating the earth. i bent it out a bit and the horn began to work

sorted the problem and now i can beep my horn and annoy the neighbours again

yeah the new wheel has only got one connector on it, what do you mean by adding another wire?

i ve just bought a new steering wheel and hub for my golf vr6 but it only has 1 wire to work the horn yet the oe steering wheel has 2. I ve fitted the new stuff and now my horn doesnt work. can anyone tell me what i ve done wrong and how to rectify my mistake please.
