As above, I have a '96 VR6 Mulberry Highline (131k) and I'm going to do an oil / filter /sparkplug change. What's the best place to buy the parts (online). Are there any specific parts I should use (Oil, Sparkplug make)? Thanks in advance.
Anyone had these changed (Lines not pipes to calipers) mine are corroded and I was looking for a rough idea on cost. Don't want to do it myself as I havn't got good access to the underside of the car and brakes are pretty important.
For a 97 VR6? I changed it last weekend and let the chap in the motor factors tell me which oil I needed...big mistake. It as though the gearbox has no oil on it for the first 1/2 mile. So going to do it again as it'll only take about 10 minutes now I know what I'm doing, just need to make sure I get the right stuff in there.
Thanks Pete. I think it's an unfashionable opinion but I think I actually prefer cars with them on. Should say I'm looking to by a VR6 as a runabout and the ones that seem to 'stand out' are the ones with them fitted.
Hello, I'm looking to buy a 5 Door Golf VR6 as a runabout but I know very little about these cars. First up what's all this ODB business I see mentioned and which one should I go for? What does the Highline have over a normal VR6. Is there a particular year that is good and why? Are VR6's any good? I gather the suspension is supposed to be lacking slightly - what's the best option to rectify this? What BHP do they output and what sort of performance to they achieve (0-60 etc). What should I look out for (known expensive problems). Thanks.
