  1. Hi, Simply question. Can anyone let me know where I can find the diagnostic connection in my 93 VR6 Golf
  2. I have launch control not on my VR6 but on another car. It just kills the spark at your defined rpm so you cant rev any further and get a good launch of the line. Awesome sounding when your cars burping and backfiring before you boot it off the line. On my other car I prefer to hit the button at 6krpm to get flames and loud bang when going past crowds of car nuts...sad I know :-)
  3. Yes you can try a lightened flywheel. I would personally go for a lightened and slotted flywheel. Either after market or take your flywheel down to a machine shop and have it done and balanced properly. Any good machine shop will also check for fine cracks which could cause a flywheel to explode. You willl notice the difference in that blipping the throttle at standstill will redline your rev counter much much quicker. i.e you will have created a more free reving engine with less inertia to overcome due to flywheel mass.
  4. Depending on how big the twitch is check the tops of the suspension turrets. Sounds like a snapped mounting bolt. If its a twitch you can control then probably a warn rack.

" I dont know if this is relevant on Golfs but on my old 5 turbo the genuine Renault coolant comes in an orangy rust colour. Yes it looks distrurbing but is perfectly normal. Dont assume its rust just yet:)
  6. Clips you can get from any plumbing DIY shop. No idea on the coolant amount
  7. Sounds to me like your clutch. Trying to lay power down in a low gear and going nowhere is good early sign. Possibly the torque is overwelcoming your clutch in the mid band. If the car is not springing forward when you change gear at high rpm have it looked at. Check the following 1) Does car revs all the way to the readline smootly and quickly in 2nd gear. If it doesnt then its fuel starvation i.e fuel pump or clutch 2) Check airfilter is clean 3) Timing might be off. Retardation of ignition timing will result in significant lack of torque and spongy throttle response. 4) Send it to a good me
  8. Ok thx for this info all. I think I will play safe and just get an air filter and cat back exhaust. Kind of lost my apetite for turbo/sc now after hearing this info.
  9. 3000rpm a charger starts boosting? I had hoped a charger would give me low down torque.. Maybe I got it wrong with this supercharger thing but I thought they are supposed to be lag free, instant power and run cool unlike a turbo which can be a bugger to drive. Is it just marketing when people compare superchargers to turbos and describe them as lag free thats the whole point....whats the truth? I'm simply gonna have to google some more on golf supercharging now
  10. Thanks for the feedback. Prices are shown in swiss francs and include fitting and setup. I'm gonna get in touch with the company shortly. Switzerland is very expensive btw in general which is strange as Z-engineering stuff is made here in switzerland I think My head says supercharger although my heart says turbo. I wonder if anyone has had ownership experience or been in a supercharged or turbod VR6 to give me some sense of feel. I'm not interested in top end just massive mid range and low down torque. I also dont want to spend money and find my car drives like stock 80% of the time around t
  11. btw here is Carpi's 580bhp golf blowing away porsches tvr's and lambos on track http://www.carpignano.ch/Video/red_devil_04_15mb.wmv
  12. Hi All, I\'m a newbie to the world of VR6 having just bought one after a recent move to Switzerland. I have so far managed to track down a Euro tuner out here not too far from where I live. http://www.carpignano.ch . I\'ll briefly explain my background with cars, I own also in the UK a 219bhp R5 Gt turbo Phase 2 which is nuts to drive. It has had everything done to it engine wise and runs 21-28psi daily Anyway I have looked at http://www.carpignano.ch website and seen the conversions they offer. Namely supercharging/turbo or Bi-Turbo. The prices for turbo or supercharing are roughly similar.
