Matt, what did you do with the M8 JKW plate just out of interest?
Loving the engine polishing, sets the bay off really well, glad you're sticking the car back on RH's too, they're the only wheel for a Mk3 in my opinion...
-
ahh, my old beastie!
Pics of what it was originally like when I built it, shame the RH's have gone astray
-
Well, that's taken me nearly an hour and a half to read and digest!
Interesting reading for sure!
What I came round to thinking is that an hour and a half is about half the time it would take me to drive from London to Derby to get my money back.
If there are still people waiting for refunds I can't believe you've not been up there asking for your cash in preson. After all most of us drive that far every other weekend during summer to stand in a field or on a disused runway and show our cars, let alone when there's nearly £2k at stake in most cases!!
Hope everyone gets sorted out soon!
-
Fletch - Yes it is near coventry
James I've had that message passed on to me already Remind me on sunday morning that you want to get on asap and I'll sort it out
Cheers chuck, I'll aim to get there early on then.
-
Claire, would it be really cheeky of me to request an early-ish morning run? I have to drive back up to Blackpool that afternoon and will be stopping in at Stealth en-route.
Ta!
-
ah maybe not so expensive if the underside is carbon as well!
Strictly's are all carbon too, aren't they??
-
If I figure out a way to keep the VR and buy the house I'll be there, so put me on the reserves list if you would Claire.
Cheers!

They're ZW1's that have had the centres painted balck and wider lips added..

I had the exact same problems with my RH wheels ordered from germany.
Naturally the problem was the pcd was different and the offset was too big (et60).
Phoned up a RH dealer in the UK and he sold me proper RH adaptors.
I know its a different company' date=' but have you called BBS up, they might be able to sort you out with some proper adaptors?
im guessing the pcd is 5x112, golf is 5x100, get some hubcentric adaptors if possible.

Which RH dealer did you phone in the UK and how much were the adapters, I just threaded one of the bolt holes in mine &|

Sounds like th carbon canister to me, is it on the drivers side?
Could be a faulty ABS sensor, it's quite common on the Mk3
-
it's all about how smooth the torque curve is too...
-
Ram Air for sure!
Oh and they're as big as a lamp shade! lol
-
I used a wire coat hanger wrapped in insulation tape with a little hook on the end to pull the cables thru
-
you don't need to colour code the bumpers if you remove the arches, I like the way it breaks the car up with the black textured bits, hence how my car looks
-
I got a Ram Air Pro Ram kit and it's great!
There's a brand new one for sale on edition 38 at the moment http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=13839

get well soon, I find pigmy-sluts.com helps while away an hour or two lol
www.electrotank.com has some good flash games, mini golf is really addictive!

15.37 not sure of MPH (not got ticket on me) Mk3 VR6, filter & exhaust, running 17" wheels
-
I ran a 15.37 best of the day, seems we're pretty evenly matched, what's the spec of your car? Mines got a jetex 2.5" system & a ram air, it's running 17's though, not ideal for sprinting...
-
Bloody hell Minty, a whole second faster than my best time!! Well done mate, Must get me one of those chargers soon!
-
Jetex 2.5" system and Ram Air filter, lovely induction noise, no chavvy exhaust noise, good performance gains from better breathing and 2.5" system...
-
Ha ha, cheers Clive, seemed it was getting abit of attention this weekend, good to finally meet you mate.
Big thanks to everyone for a great weekend, I'll be back next year!
Has anyone got pics of the weekend as I forgot my camera...
-
As Justin said, I had my Mk3 gti 8 valve converted to VR6 spec by Strictly Dubs and I can't fault their work... It's a factory looking and feeling job and was turned around in record time, they (Paul & Simon) are both really knowledeagble and will give you any advice on tuning etc. If you've got any questions mate, PM me and I'll gladly talk to you about my dealings with them
-
Looking to change the plugs & leads on my VR and was wondering if you guys had any reccomendations. Are the VW ones up to the job (Beru I think?) or are there better ones out there. I'm not looking to spend fortunes as I've just done the VR conversion and am also a bit sceptical about power gains from just plugs & leads, although if you know different please share your experience.
Thanks in advance!

Yep, I get the piss taken out of me too when I take mine off, it's Ok tho, when they get their cars robbed, I'll have he last laugh
