  1. All advice is welcome. The bodywork is OK apart from the 2 points highlighted. The pictures shown were taken when its dirty so dont show it in its best light this doesnt alter the fact that there are a couple of problems with it.

I dont expect to make money on it, I realise you dont make mony on modifying your car. What I was hoping that with the £1000 stereo, the £700 shockers and that all timing chains being replaced that the car is worth around what I advertised it at. If it is too expensive I will have to drop the price, bearing it in mind that it does say ONO is it too expensive? If so what is a reasonable price

  2. cheers guys, do you think the price is ok though? Its early days as far as a sale is concerned, at the moment its only advertised in the admag and on a couple of owners clubs. If it doesnt sell I think I will just have to get the paintwork done.

  3. I think sell the stereo' date=' use some of the money to fix the tailgate, then you may get what you are asking for it.

I would of been interested if the tail gate wasnt like that, and it didnt have high miles, as i seem to be upping my budget every day! LOL.

My logic to not painting it was at least the person seeing it can see the "damage" by painting it peple can start to wonder why its been painted. I had a quote from what I consider to be a bodyshop worthy of working on it and it was £400! The last thing I wanted to do was to take it to a garage that charged reasonable money and it to come back looking like a patchwork quilt..

Is my spelling of "realistic" correct? Doesnt look right to me!

  4. Thanks for the reply. The tailgate was always one of those things that I never got round to doing. Its nice to get confirmation of my pricing, thanks, it always dificult to price a modified (slightly) car. The price seemed fair to me considering the £1000 stereo and the £700 shock absorbers + the timing chain. The proof of the pudding I suppose will be the sale...well hopefull sale, thn its hello oil burning pd150 tdi for me, its the best I can do considering my budget and my anual mileage.

  5. thanks for the help AL J, your a re correct, the interior light fuse had blown! This was getting me proper wound up yesterday it happened about an hour before the football and i ended up leaving it frustrated. Just shows you to start with the basics, i just assumed the alarm was problem.

  6. Hi, im having problems with my alarm, its stopped working, when i try to activate it all it does is flash the indicators, the central locking wont work, also the sunroof and interior light have stopped working too, im asuming this is beacause he alarm shuts the roof normally

Any ideas? has anyone got an instruction manual for this a alarm, ive lost mine I remember there is a reset procedure for the alarm, can anoyone tell me it? is there a site maybe to download the manual. the worst thing is my boot lock has seized up through lack of use and i cant lock the car up!! help!

  7. Hi all,

Is it possible to remove the lense of mk3 vr6 headlamps, mine has a big crack down it (incidentally, just passed the MOT with it). The lense seems to be held on with clips but im not sure if it has sealant behind to stop moisture. The reason I ask is that I have a set of lights with the inner mountings broke but with perfect lenses.

  8. Ive got a ten inch jl one in mine. running of a phoenix gold amp.

The guy iin the shop said he would drill through the back of the box and screw it into or around the warning triangle bracket as its a double skin. This sounds like hard work though.

Teh problem with mine seem to be that the back of the box wont push up hard to the side of the car because of the seat belt mechanism, and im not sure if it is supposed to or not.

  9. I have a 1997 mk3 3 door vr6 and ive had a stealth box for a while now and its currently sitting on the boot floor rather than in the passenger side recess, this rather defeats the object of having one. The 2 reasons for this are that when I put it in position I keeps falling down because supplied velcro fasteners are usless and secondly Im bone idle.

Anyone on here had one of these boxes and can tell me how they fixed them in their car?

    Thanks kev
