my car has that on the flywheel end-i think this is near the clutch end. not sure-mechanic getting back to me with a quote for how much it will cost-getting it done at NS racing. does anyone know how much i can expect to pay?

yeah had lower and upper tensioner done hopefully the whole job wont cost more than £150!!!

its at NS racing. they a reputable place. they said seal is about ten pounds-he is gonna price it up for me and let me know how much is it. i had the clutch done not too long ago and the tensioner pulley too so wouldnt need to do that. how much do you reckon it would cost just for this job. bit worried bout expenses at the moment cos dont have much money at the moment. cheers

jus found out my vr6 needs the crankswhaft seals need replacing-my head started hurting-cos oil leaking so need to get it done-apparently mechanis said need to get gearbox out-part only cost £10 but does anyone know how much this job normally costs?

my car is an indian red/burgundy-it is quite a rare shade and have only ever seen one other car with this exact shade. i gotta spray the front to blend it all in though. the bumper looks scuffed and should get away with beeing resprayed but will need a new grill

just bought my car back from its 6k service, checking tyre pressure at petrol station and some idiot reverses into my car and speeds off-could get his number plate cos his boot swung up-(dont ask how). petrol station said they dont record til the evening-pissed me right off-cos cant claim insurance-will lose no claims bonus. anyone know where i can get an original front grill for mk3 vr6 1996 year and also maybe a front bumper? is it worth getting used grill if all the clips are intact? would it cost more to paint if it was already another colour? cheers everyone

my shocks need changing front and rear. i am thinking of putting original VW shocks. however, been told that standard shocks are crap. i like to keep my car totally standard, dont have much money so what suspension would you reccommend for similar price to what i would be paying for VW shocks? im looking for a comfortable ride, with only a small ride drop, but improved handling. are there any cheap coilovers for similar price? cheers

can anyone reccommend a good brand for spark plugs for my 1996 vr6? are main dealer any good? what brand are they-can they be bought elsewhere? cheers

cheers for advice. ive taken car to NS Racing before-they and steealth racing are meant to be the best for vr6. they should have a diagnostics computer shoudnt they? or is it only main dealer who have access to diagnostics computer? leads are pretty much new-will change plugs though.

hey everyone-love the vr but got a few probs that i would like your advice on (gotta say the advice i get here is better than any garage): my vr6-1996 N reg with 70000 miles on clock full VW service history until i bort it last year couple of times when driving it felt like it was misfiring when i put foot down no matter what gear i was in-it struggle. but when i turned engine on and off again it was fine today engine wasnt cold but went to start it but kept cutting off as soon as it started even when i tried to keep revs up...only started wen left it in gear and pulled off straight away. if i
