  1. Joe I've used Donaldsons for more years than I care to think about, have always been okay on the GTI but not sure if they see many VRs. Definite no no for Bedrocks a few friends have been stung in the past btw personal opinion because I know a lot of people that are happy with them as it's only servicing and brakes it looks like donaldsons is going to win it [ Edited Tue Dec 14 2004, 09:58PM ]
  2. Star did the suspension and exhaust along with induction and engine mount happy with the work, just can't be a***ed with travelling to Fife at this time of year and was hoping that I could find someone closer to home. Thanks for the input any way looks like the stealers might win this one after all
  3. Looking for reliable garage for servicing and repairs who know there stuff with regards to the VR in or around Glasgow area, don't want to go near the VW stealers ~ , once bitten and all that ~ . any help appreciated
  4. This maybe well off mark I had a similar problem of boiling over with my Mk2 8V It would constantly boil over after a journey and after many visits to various mechanics who were all stumped I had to have the head repaired. this did not solve my problem and I was getting the matches out when I read a post on another forum about the rubber seal in the over flow cap perishing. all the symptoms were the same so I replaced it for a few quid and hey presto problem solved (could've saved myself a fortune but no mechanics could diagnose so I didn't feel that bad) It turns out that this seal caused the
  5. What's your opinion on milltek exhausts have been hearing good things about them cat back system only or is it wothwhile going for the cat replacement also what about good induction kits has to have cover to protect from hot air advice and opinions much appreciated ~
  6. I know about the elec recaros for the mark 2 I had them in my last vw in the M5 I had elec memory recaros, considering there were different people driving the car it was very handy because you had your own settings and when you got in press a button and the seat set automatically btw I'm not complaining I just wondered whether I was missing out on something ~
  7. firstly I'm quite happy having a heated a*** but what were vw thinking about when they make the seats heated but without electric adjustment I feel it's a bit a*** from elbow like having elec s/r with manual windows did they do elec adj seats if they did I will do anybody who has them a favour by taking them off their hands but please make sure it's grey leather ~
  8. I had it on the rollers yesterday was expecting stock 174 but was then told the later VRs had larger throttle body fitted and was over Dunoon to get 194bhp - 185lbs of torque I asked about squeezing more out and was told that VSR with Miltek exhaust and remap would gain upto 50lbs torque but had a feeling I was being fed a bit of a sales pitch giving me exaggerated figures don't think it'll stop me going for it you've got to start somewhere ~
  9. any info about the vsr inlet manifold would be much appreciated, are they worth the money what sort of gains are the gains noticeably significant have been told that you can gain upto 50lbs of torque but also heard that it's only about 20 anybody who has one fitted could tell me the truth ~
