  1. Well, i dont have access to a mk4 golf estate, so thats out, and i merely wondered about the estate as that one is on ebay. I may just run the estate for a while, and see where my thoughts go. If anything comes up (engine wise) then you never know

  3. Just randomly checking ebay, and found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2467085172&category=9873 Now, im no expert (or even anything close), but isnt that along the same lines as a golf estate? Ok it looks a little 'worn', well, rather battered more like, but still, it shows something like that is possible yes? Is that an original from the factory VR6 estate?
  4. Whoops, double posted sorry. cant see the delete button either. [ Edited Sun Mar 14 2004, 11:11PM ]
  5. Yes indeed i noticed that one also. I'd imagine finding one like that, with either body damage or other non-engine damage would be the best idea. Seeing as the cheaper ones will most likely have high'ish mileage, i presume a rebuild etc would be worth doing whilst the engine is out, before it goes in the new vehicle...? This is merely an idea for the future, but i'm trying to find out as much as i can now, so it gives me some things to think about. As in, getting hold of the estate, just driving it whilst i save/prepare for the conversion and maybe performing subtle visual mods to it, and/or w
  6. cheers guys, that was pretty much the encouragment i was needing. I've been looking at the idea of purchasing an entire donor car, and if it was possible to get one for around that sort've money, then transfering everything over, then i would seriously think about it. It would be rather fun anyway, nice set of black aerospeed wheels on there, and that would basically be it. I do like to be a bit different, so this sort've thing isnt unusual for me. Cheers for the help.
  7. Yes, but thats not what im asking. Say you were to retrieve the car for nothing, and could get the engine for about a grand or so, then i'd imagine that'd be a pretty good idea. It would certainly be one of a kind, and amusing to have an estate faster than alot of hot hatches. Anyone else?
  8. Hello. I just had a quick idea, and wonder if it was feasable (and possibly even done before). How easily would a VR6 engine go in a mk3 golf estate? its currently a 1.9 TDI, but i just wondered if this sort of conversion was actually possible, and if so, what would be involved. Call me crazy, but its just an idea.
