Another Q for ya guys.. basically had some1 come view the car and they reckon the coil pack may be knackered.... and not the leads as i 1st thought.... Anyway checking the paperwork on the car and my VR6 had a new CoilPack from Vw in Dec '02 (Done approx 30k on new coilpack) and also some leads fitted about 1 year ago also (70quid non-dealer fitted) So my question is basically how long should the coilpack last..? will it be damaged..? Any way of finding out for certain?(the original was faulty on the inside according to the receipt - hence new one fitted) Its just I want to make sure if it is

i am sellimg but wouldnt like to sell it with new leads if they are going to get knackered after a few months.... pointless me spending the cash then the new owner... i may as well get proper ones in the 1st place as its always had genuine vw parts fitted off to VW it is then tomorrow.... Raf.

vw dealers wanted 126quid excl vat for a set of leads...!!! wot about aftermarket leads...?

maybe - any chance of finding out for sure.. shall i spray some wd40 on it b4 starting it up....?

Cheers, rang G&S and they said 62quid inc vat so might pop round tomorrow and get some.. its funny bcos i just started it again and now its ok - no sparking or anything.. was previously stood for around a week.

sods law isnt it - had my VR6 abd not one problem until i come to sell it and went to start it this morning and the car started but i could heaqr ticking.... openend the bonnet and could see sparks flying from 1 lead to the other and the car missing on idle...? is the the 'common' leads problem..? also any ideas where i can get a set from....
