Hi,

Just bought a golf VR. Its got this lock under the gearstick which I need to identify so that I can contact the manufacturer to get a certificate for insurance.

It seems like a very srong system, there is a steel pin about 15mm thick and 200mm long that slides in under the gearstick from the passenger side and locks it into reverse. But there is no logo, apart from on the key which is CYL, but that seems to be the makers of just the key. I can't find anything like it on the net.

It would be great if someone knows what it is so I can save some insurance dosh!

A photo would be great m8 sounds a bit like a product Halfords used to sell a couple of years ago , it was hardened steel in black and yellow and was insurance approved not sure what it was called but it locked the car in gear so it could be what you got. If it sounds likely let me know and i will see what i can found out..
