ALean Mofo 0
HiNot sure if any of the follow is accurate, but here goes...I need to change my brakes soon (bear with me ) and i would like to try this 312mm audi tt brake swap. The only problem is that my highline current has 15" BBS cross spokes, which are only just big enough for the 288mm's!So, i need a cheap set of 17", meaning a second hand set of OEM VAG originals. With this in mind, Audi seems to produced more 17"s than VW, and if my understanding is correct, some of them should be a straight swap.Right? WHICH ONES! Looking on e-bay reveals more than one owner whom knows nothing about cars, let alone wheel offset, stud pattern etc...So, is there any rough guide on which make and model years shared the same hubs etc.. by which i could work out if the wheels would fit my VrYou'll have to forgive me if i'm talking rubbish Alean Mofop.s I really like the look of something called a "Competition" rim fitted to a TT, some of the members here have them fitted I think. mattverth 0
Check my avatar, 312's going under RS4s very soon. They do fit under 16s I believe (diameter is ok, just depends on the wheel spoke depth. Audis all have wheel with no real dish, if at all, so your range of options should be fine). You need 5x100 pcd, so a set from a TT or S3 Audi will be fine. Recent a4/s4 series are not right at 5x112. Binliner was selling a set of tt competitions, and another member just replaced his. They look awesome. I'd have them if I wasnt on the other side of the planet.
ALean Mofo 0
Thanks for the info mattverth. Just a couple of things, Firstly, can i definatly assume that 312mm will NOT fit under 15" alloys. Are audi a3/s3 different?Lastly, and most importantly, will the tt competitions go straight on CheersALean
mattverth 0
312s will not go under 15s. Not sure about a3, still think they are 5x100. TT'S go staight on I believe without a spacer, in fact 312s will allow more clearance than 288s.
