VR6OC News Bot 30
As you well know, the 2018 facelifted Mustang was revealed in Detroit last month, but that was during a private event. So, this technically is its first appearance for the wider public, and we finally have the opportunity to see this iconic sports car up close.2018 Ford Mustang features a host of improvements, including new technology and design changes as well as even better performance from more powerful engines and new MagneRide suspension technology. For the first time, Mustang benefits from a vast array of Ford driver-assist technology, such as Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection, distance alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist and Driver Alert System. At the front, the new Mustang gets new wider front grille, new headlights, redesigned front bumper, while at the rear C-shaped light clusters and new diffuser. Under the hood, the company has retired the 3.7-liter V6, while the proven 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine will continue to offer outstanding performance using Ford’s transient overboost technology. The 5.0-liter V8 engine now features new dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection, and is more powerful and revs higher than any Mustang GT before. Both the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and the 5.0-liter V8 versions has now gained a new 10-speed automatic gearbox option, while the manual transmission for both engine options has been totally redesigned for optimal torque. Inside, the cabin also gained better quality materials with contrast stitching, an optional all-new customizable 12-inch all-digital LCD screen, a new key fob design, restyled seating surfaces with new patterns and color choices among others. The face-lifted 2018 Ford Mustang will on sale in North America this fall. Video View the full article
