The update for the 2017 model year covers every area of BRZ, from the exterior, interior, powertrain, suspension and safety. The shape remains the same, but has been enhanced with a wider, lower stance at the front end. The 45-degree stepped accent on the bumper limits airflow into the air intake, which improves handling and ride. The full-LED headlights, newly designed rear lamps, an aerodynamic pedestal spoiler top off the rear of the car, and new 10 spoke aluminium design for the wheels rounds out the exterior upgrades.
Inside the cabin there’s a now 4.2-inch colour LCD multi-information display, which features a G force meter, brake force gauge, steering angle gauge, lap timer and torque/power curves for bringing out the sportier side of any driver. The steering wheel is also new and now features different leather to increase the driver’s grip for a more engaging experience and boasts audio control switches. The cabin also has been further upgraded with a higher quality materials, including Alcantara and leather seats.2017-subaru-brz-03

Under the hood, Subaru increased the strength of the cylinder blocks of the 2.0-liter Boxer engine. The valve stems have been buffed and polished, the camshaft is lower friction and the weight of the rocker arms has been reduced. All of that doesn’t boost the power output, but according to company results in a more responsive, fuel efficient engine.
The refreshed Coupe also boasts redesigned dampers, tweaked to reduce body roll and damping vibration as well as to increase precision whilst cornering. And there’s also a new ‘TRACK’ mode on the VDC selector, a new hill-start assist setup, and a next-generation advanced airbag system which uses upgraded sensors for a greater level of safety.2017-subaru-brz-06
The 2017 Subaru BRZ will go on sale in spring 2017, and will be available in SE Lux trim only with either a manual or automatic transmission, while the pricing hasn’t been yet confirmed.
