Developed and tested in the frozen north of Sweden, where temperatures regularly hit -40 degrees as well as the searing desert heat of Arizona, the V90 Cross Country has been built to last. Volvo has yet to release any technical details, but all we know for now is that V90 Cross Country features a raised ride height, all-wheel-drive, and body cladding along the wheel arches.
“Our cars are well known for their safety, strength and durability. With All-Wheel Drive, increased ride height, and a chassis optimized for comfort and control in all weather and road conditions, the new V90 Cross Country takes our versatile V90 estate and adds the heart of an explorer,” said Dr. Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President Research & Development at Volvo Cars.2017-volvo-s60-v60-polestar-01

Alongside with the all-new V90 Cross Country, Volvo also at its stand exhibit the two Polestar models S60 and V60, which, according to brand are the quickest cars Volvo has ever made. Both models are powered by the award winning 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine Drive-E engine. Heavily tuned with a bigger turbo, a supercharger, new conrods, new camshafts, a larger air intake and a higher capacity fuel pump, the Powertrain now deliver 362hp and 470Nm (347lb-ft). It also boasts a BorgWarner four-wheel drive system and the new Polestar-optimized eight-speed Geartronic automatic gearbox. Other noticeable new features include a new lightweight 20-inch wheels, Polestar calibrated electro-assisted power steering and a new slotted brake disc of 371 millimeters. All of that contributes the new Polestars accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in as little as 4.4 seconds with a (limited) top speed of 155 mph. 2017-volvo-s60-v60-polestar-03
Despite the new performance-optimized equipment, the new models also are lighter than their predecessors. The Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar are more than 50 pounds lighter over the front axle and 44 pounds lighter in total. The fuel consumption and emissions are improved, with an EPA-rated 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway (23 combined).
Polestar will make only 1,500 cars a year, about 200 of which will be sold in the US.
