VR6OC News Bot 30 Posted October 28, 2016 Report Share Posted October 28, 2016 Honda will showcase an impressive number of tuned models and concepts at the 2016 SEMA show, headlined by the North American debut of the world’s baddest hatchback, Civic Type R prototype. When it launches next year, the new Civic Type R will top off the 10th generation Civic lineup and the Prototype shows what we can expect The Civic R Prototype shows what we can expect of the next-generation Civic Type R, when it launches next year. It builts on the new generation Civic hatch, the Civic R Prototype is enhanced by muscular body styling and modifications to aid aerodynamic performance. The exterior is wrapped in a unique, highly reflective, finely-grained brushed aluminum-effect finish, while at the front the aggressive fascia is accentuated with a winged carbon fiber splitter and sporty red accent line. Other significant highlights include air scoops and ducts, smoked LED headlights, carbon side skirts, indicators and side indicator repeater lights, and a beefy carbon fiber diffuser at the rear which frames three fully-functional tailpipes. It rides on 20-inch piano black alloy wheels with red accents and 245-section high-performance tires. Joining the Type R will be a posse of custom-built, and tuned Civic variants, as well as the 2017 Civic Hatchback. It features a Honda Factory Performance accessory concept package featuring custom HFP accessories including deck lid spoiler, brake rotors, carpet floor mats and emblems. In addition, the car is outfitted with black wheel lock and wheel lugs, red underbody spoilers and 19-inch HFP alloy wheels. Honda lineup will also include 2016 Honda Civic Coupe GRC race car, which boast more than 600 horsepower, turn in a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds and is designed to handle the 70-foot table-top jumps featured on each racetrack. 2017 Honda Civic Coupe Racing Concept has been built by the same designers and engineers that developed the 10th-generation Civic Coupe. It features FIA specification safety cage, and is able to compete in domestic and international endurance sports car events. The car will make its first official race debut at the USAF 25 Hour of Thunderhill on December 3-4, 2016. In total, Honda will showcase nine different accessorized and custom-built Civic projects.
