VR6OC News Bot 30
Hyundai has revealed its stunning high-performance N concept with the world premiere of RN30 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The track-ready concept previews next year’s i30N. Based on the New Generation Hyundai i30, the RN30 is distinguished by its purposeful aerodynamic design and specialised high-performance technologies that deliver thrilling high-speed driving. At the front it features a beefy front bumper with enlarged air vents and a prominent splitter, while at the back there’s a prominent roof-mounted spoiler to aid downforce at the rear axle and a large rear diffuser set above centrally-mounted white ceramic twin exhaust pipes for optimal and balanced downforce. The striking concept benefits from very stiff suspension setup that makes the car look as if it’s glued to the road and sits on 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels. Thanks to the muscular front and rear fenders the car is 30 mm wider and 84 mm shorter compared to the road-going new i30. The concept is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine delivering mighty 380 PS (279.5 kW) and a maximum torque of 46 kgf.m (451 Nm). That has been achieved thanks to the an enlarged turbo, while the engine blocks now features forging parts, instead of casting parts, to increase their durability and resistance. Unlike the new i30 that has a front-wheel-drive layout, the RN30 adopts an all-wheel drive setup equipped with a wet-type dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with paddle shifters. There’s also an electronic limited-slip differential to provide even more stability during high-speed cornering. The interior is pure race car and has been designed to ensure drivers can focus attention exclusively on the car and the road. A bucket seats and full roll cage support and protect the driver in all situations. There are also two gimbal cameras built inside both A-pillars, and another attached to the center fin on top of the roof for those that like to capture every heroic or crashy moment in 4K clarity.
