AutoExpress reports that the upcoming, tenth-generation Civic Type R is expected to debut in a concept form at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, while the production version will hit the showrooms next September. The concept will be shown along with the standard version of the 10th-generation hatchback model.
Underneath the bonnet, the model will retain the current 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine but will crank out around 340 horsepower, which is an extra 34 ponies than the current model. It’ll stick with front-wheel drive, with a six-speed manual, which will be the only transmission available.

In terms of styling, the report says Honda wants something more subtle design instead of the current model’s divisive, extreme look, so the Japanese automaker reportedly will delete the rear spoiler. Instead, the automaker will use a softer front bumper and back diffuser, and will offer a more aggressive aero package as an option. Oversized air intakes, red bumper details and flared wheel arches will remain, but, overall the styling will be far more restrained compared with the current version.
