Set to go on sale this fall, the new Clio RS comes with a choice of two power units and three types of chassis. The updated model also comes with a world first for additional multi-faceted LED lighting technology called R.S. VISION. The system, initially seen on the Clio R.S.16 concept car, co-ordinates cornering lights, fog lights, side lights as well as dipped and main beams to enhance night-time visibility. The new Clio R.S. also boasts new 18-inch wheels, specific sills, rear spoiler, rear functional diffuser and twin exhaust tailpipes. The rear lights carry over the C-shaped lighting signature, while the Renault Sport (R.S.) logo can be found underneath the Renault badge at the front of the car, on the wheels and at the rear. The new Clio RS comes equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol unit, with a choice of two power outputs 200hp and 220hp if you choose the Trophy version. Both are mated to six-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts. The Trophy chassis comes with 18-inch wheels, a unique Akrapovič exhaust system and lowered suspension, which reduces the ride height by 20mm at the front and 10mm at the rear to place the focus on driving pleasure. The 220hp Clio Trophy sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds, before topping out at a top speed of 235 km/h (146mph). Renault has also announced a new GT Line trim for the standard model. The package features a sportier front bumper with bigger intakes, unique 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, a Dark Metal rear bumper panel and exclusive exhaust with a chrome tailpipe. Both the new Clio and the new Clio RS will be available to order in the UK starting from September, with customer deliveries from the fall. Pricing will be announced closer to the market launch.
