VR6OC News Bot 30 Posted June 16, 2016 Report Share Posted June 16, 2016 Volvo’s high-performance Polestar division has released the new generation Performance Optimisation Package for the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine, making the world’s most powerful SUV. The new Polestar Performance Optimisation Package increases the performance of the T8 hybrid powertrain from 400 hp (298 kW) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque of the standard model, up to 421 hp (314 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft). As a result, the SUV hits 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in just 5.5 seconds, which is an improvement of 0.4 sec over the standard model. The package does not only optimize the engine, but brings a multi-point modifications that improves gearshift hold, throttle response, speed and precision, as well as overall engine performance, promising a new level of driving pleasure. Despite all of these modifications, Volvo claims that the car retains the combined fuel consumption of just 2.1 l/100 km (class-leading, according to Volvo) and it can travel an estimated 43 km (26.7 miles) on pure electric power.
