VR6OC News Bot 30 Posted May 11, 2016 Report Share Posted May 11, 2016 Subaru has introduced a new WRX Special Edition to celebrate 50,000 sales of the WRX in Australia Intended exclusively for the Australian market, the Special Edition is based on the WRX Premium version and Only 200 will be made available in Crystal White, Ice Silver, WR Blue, Dark Grey and Crystal Black paint colours. The special edition model gains WRX sports mesh grille, self-leveling LED headlights, red interior accents, a set of 18-inch black BBS alloy wheels and STI gear knob if you go opt the version equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox. There’s also a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and a reversing camera, eight-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry/start, a Harmon Kardon sound system with eight speakers and air-conditioning dials, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, D-shaped leather-clad and steering wheel with red stitching among others. Underneath the bonnet there is no change to the powetrain, which means power comes from the standard 2.0-liter direct injected turbocharged boxer engine, capable of producing 264 hp/197kW and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. It can be connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a Sports Lineatronic CVT. The WRX Premium version starts from $46,890 AUD ($34,407 USD) for the manual model, and an extra $2,000 AUD ($1,468 USD) if you choose the automatic.
