This 800hp muscle car known as Obsidian, is a one-of-a-kind ’67 Mustang Custom Fastback and according to the Barrett-Jackson auction house cost around $1.3 Million to build.1967 Ford Mustang Obsidian-01
The official name of the car is “Obsidian SG-One” where the SG stands for the initials of the original owner Steve Groat, while One means that it is the only one that will ever be built. The car was completely overhauled by Matt Couper, of Autoworks International in El Cajon, California, who give the car modern look from front to back. The pony car now features an intimidating honeycomb grille, a pair of headlights from a 2005 Mustang, custom side skirts and fenders, bumpers at both ends, a rear diffuser among others and a ram-air style hood among others. Obsidian rides on Couper-designed aluminum wheels shod with Bridgestone Potenza tires. Under the hood lies a fuel-injected 6.4-liter V8 outfitted with twin Rotex superchargers and a pair of air-to-air intercoolers. This set up is good for 847 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque, which are then sent to the rear axle through a manual Tremec TKO 600 five-speed transmission. Stopping comes from Big Brembo slotted 4-wheel disc brakes, cooled by ducts on the flared quarter-panels. The Mustang’s chassis has been reinforced with a tubular box frame and a hidden four-point roll cage to cope with the added power.

Thus equipped, this 800hp hunk of pure muscle Mustang sprints from standstill to 60 in just 4 seconds.
Inside, the car features a custom Recaro heated seats, the handcrafted color-matched dashboard and two-piece door panels, XM radio, an MP3 player, iPod/Bluetooth/wireless Internet capability and navigation among others.
The Obsidian is currently owned by the former Milwaukee Bucks center Dan Gadzuric, but in June this beast of a Mustang will be offered at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and it’s expected to bring big money.
