VR6OC News Bot 30 Posted April 19, 2016 Report Share Posted April 19, 2016 Chevrolet has prepared unique version of the new, 2017 Camaro SS 50th Anniversary Edition to celebrate the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 next month. The 2017 Camaro SS 50th Anniversary edition will be driven by Indy legend Roger Penske and It will be for the ninth time in history, a Camaro to set the pace at the Indianapolis 500, and the 27th time for Chevrolet, dating back to 1948. Four specially prepared Camaros, all with exclusive Abalone White exteriors featuring “100th Running of the Indianapolis 500” graphics will support the race. They also feature the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway wing-and-wheel logo on the quarter panels as well as the exterior cues and graphics that are unique to the standard 50th Anniversary units that will go on sale this summer. The 2017 50th Anniversary Edition will feature a unique grille with satin chrome accents, body-color front splitter, orange brake calipers (front only on LT), specific 20-inch 50th Anniversary wheels, unique black leather and special interior 50th Anniversary treatments. The package will be offered on 2LT and 2SS trims and will be available as either a coupe or convertible. The 2LT version is powered by the new 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, that generates 275 hp (205 kW) and 295 pound-feet of torque. The offer will also include a 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated V6 unit with 335 hp (250 kW) and 284 lb-ft.
