Subaru has unveiled the all-new 2017 Impreza in both Sedan and 5-Door body styles at the New York Auto Show.2017 Subaru Impreza-01The fifth-generation Impreza debuts the Subaru Global Platform architecture, which has been designed to deliver enhanced agility, crash protection, ride comfort, and driving pleasure. As expected, the 2017 Impreza incorporates the lines of the concept shown in Tokyo and Los Angeles last year. The car retains the brand’s signature hexagonal grille, but the hawk-eye headlights on both ends are toned down, while the prominent wheel arches and flowing lines highlights the athletic stance.
The all-new 2017 Impreza is 1.6 inches longer, 1.5 inches wider and rides on 1.0-in. stretched wheelbase compared to the last generation Impreza. The 0.4-inch lower height improves the aerodynamics with a lower coefficient of drag, while the larger dimensions enables a roomier cabin.
The new Subaru Global Platform incorporates numerous types of high-strength steel that increases rigidity of the unitized body structure by over 70 percent, while strut front suspension combined with an independent double-wishbone rear suspension and a rear stabilizer bar installed directly to the body reduces body roll by 50 percent compared to the current car.2017 Subaru Impreza-03
