Hi all, im totally new to this so bare with me

I own a mk4 golf 1.4 8v

Just bought a mk3 vr6 2.8 full donor car to do the conversion on my 1.4

Now i have a question on the wiring side of things, does the loom split, engine, dash, front to rear ect ?

Also ive read that in some cases the engine loom for the vr will plug and play into my 1.4 fusebox? That correct,? Is fo i wont have to change dash loom will i?

Oh well in that case Andy everything is just a straight swap. I'm not sure on the fuse box side of things tho. I think you'll have to use the vr6 clocks too.

I'd say the easiest way to do the engine swap would be literally to unbolt the subframe with the engine, box and suspension all still attached to each other the bolt it all into the 1.4 shell. You'll also need the pedal box from the VR as I'd imagine the 1.4 will have a cable clutch and not hydraulic like the VR. Oh and possibly the shifter tower and rods/cables. I'd also use the rear axle too then you've got the rear discs from the VR
