VR-Six 0
I've got a 92 spec Golf VR6 and recently bought a BMC CDA. My car does have air-con but the compressor has been removed so the air-con isn't actually working. I just need to know if it is poss to remove the carbon cannister altogether?? What does the carbon cannister actually do?? I'm a complete novice so you'll have to forgive me for my very basic questions!!
craggsy 91
its easy to get rid of. undo screw holding bracket. Take 2 pipes off and block black one up. Run the other one down inside wing of wing so you don't get petrol fumes in car. Oh take front bumper off first and headlight
DundeeDub 0
i didn't take the bumper or headlight off when i did it, I just got to it from above and below. The carbon Canistor filters the fumes from the petrol tanks to comply with California regulations. As above rip it out block on of the pipes (can't remember which one it was and vent the other.Nice choice of induction kit, i've had mine for nearly 2 years now and not had a single bit of trouble with it apart from the cardboard/foil intake pipe, I eplaced mine with 2 samco elbows and a coupler

Matt W 4
If it was to comply with "California regulations" why would they bother putting it in the European cars...?
