ecu and loom help

hi all I know this is a vr6 club but im really in need of some help

Im building a 16vt and I have bought a emerald k6 off a 20vt. the ecu is set up to run pencil coils rather than the ford 2 gen that I bought. so what I need to know is. can I use pencil coils on my 1.8 16v??? rather than send the ecu back.

 

any help would be spot on
