two strange problems with my vr6! please HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

Problem 1:

not the easiest problem to explain but I shall have ago:

when the battery is disconnected the drivers side door can lock and unlock as normal and door will open and close.

once I reconnect the battery and lock the door the door deadlocks, i turn the key and the door pin will rise but the door still will not open.

i disconnect the battery and the problem is gone very confused. only for the drivers side door.

I was told it could be due to the Gemini alarm present on the car, I have removed the alarm completely and the problem is still there.

Problem 2:

car needed a new battery, i removed the old one put the new one on and both of the windows went down and the deadlocking fault that i have made a previous post about occured. windows will not go back up! you click the button for up and theres no reaction, if you click down on either of the buttons it makes a noise like it would go down if it wasnt already down, tried turning the key the other way for 5 seconds and that didnt do it and no fuses have blown. someone help

I beleieve there is a soft reset you can do on the ECU... I think but don't hold me to this. if you disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect - the ECU performs its own soft reset. I am sure it will be confirmed shortly.

As for dodgy faults then there are two issues. a wire is connected incorrectly or snaped. Check those in the the door flex ccover. Or There is an earth fault. Do you have a multimeter at all?
