Dirtysanchez 0
I'm going to view a couple of VR6s this week and I have a couple of questions. I've read the buyers guide so I know the basics of what to look for, but I've got no experiences of these cars at all and I figured that getting the most info possible can only be a good thing! So, here goes.1. How do I tell the difference between OBD1 and 2 cars?2. I've seen mention of 12v and 24v VR6s - did the Golf have the 24v too? If so, are there any real world advantages over the 12v?3. What is the difference between Highline and non-Highline cars?Sorry for the newbie questions lol. My car history has mostly been Nissan/BMW, so VW is all very new to me. Also, if there's anything else I should look for then please let me know
craggsy 91
Mk3 VR6 will all be 12v engines. The 24v came in the mk4 Golf.To tell the differnece between OBD1 and 2 will need you to look at pics on here, but generally OBD1 are up to about 1995 and OBD2 from 1995 to 98.Highlines will have highline on logbook and basicly have leather to match bodywork, either black or mulberry. Plus may still have on wooden steering wheel and gearnob
