VR6II 0
In response to.... http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?471391.10#post_472567having had the car off-road for about 2 months i decided to do a coolant flush and all was running well until it spilled its guts on Wednesday.Having re-filled the coolant i took it around the block and got it up to temp - after turning the ignition off i could hear seaping from one of the hoses... after much investigating (for my limited knowledge) the bottom plastic had cracked off lodged in the hose...Anyone tell me exactly what this is and its purpose? Its heater matrix related?+ wheres the best place/good value to buy a replacement? Thanks
craggsy 91
Thats the Auxillary water pump. Not needed but reccomended to keep. It keeps water going round the sysstem after engine has been turned off

VR6II 0
Thanks for that Paul, i received and fitted the aux water pump today BUT now another problem has cropped up!...I've noticed drops of water quite frequent near the starter motor - im guessing theres a crack in the thermostat housing? + the rad fans wont engage :-(Would both the sensor have packed up aswell or what'd be best course of action anyone?... legvw 0
It could be the thermostat housing, itself or it could be a seal around the sensors that fit in it. If you remove the yellow plug and bridge 2 opposing terminals, the fans should kick in.The leak could also be the seal between the stat housing and head.
