sedge 7
Hi everyone, having some serious problems with the vr6 at the moment. I posted up last week about the possibilty of the head gasket blowing in my golf. Acoolant pipe split while I was driving and once I noticed it getting hot I tried to nurse it home so I could look what the problem was. It got too hot and cut out before I made it home. So let it cool for an hour at road side, repaired the pipe and filled up with coolant. It started fine then and got me home ok. Not driven it for about a week, just bin out now and noticed that as soon as the ignition is turned off it completely kills the power to the clocks and everything. could this be related to the over heating/ head gasket? Also I went for a short drive and the revs were sticking up at 2000rpm every now and then but then sometimes dropped back down to idle speed.Just wondering if anyones got any ideas of where to go next with it. First off I'm gonna get a compression test done to see if the hg has gone.
