russj249 2
I'm too young to have/really remember then, but my boss said you can always tell one that's been thrashed if there are 2 cuts in the carpet from the clutch pedal.. the cable was too close to the turbo so when it was driven hard the outer case shrunk and clutch wouldn't operate unless you put it through the floor! allsmiles 0
mines had holes in the carpet lol aswell as possibly all renault 5 gt turbos ive seen! i had a problem with my clutch pedal where you physically had use both hands and grab the clutch pedal and sort of bend it back up(opposite way of pressing the clutch!) clutch cables are prone to snapping, alot of peoples snap all the time, mines only snapped once in 8 years!alot of fun tho altho there always seem to be a problem every other week, i dont blame the car tho, i blame the people who have had their fun out of them and not looking after them and by the time i was old enough to buy one they were all pretty shagged by then, i would have another tho
craggsy 91
I loved mine......but yes problem central lolMine even went into Renault and had a new turbo. Cost big bucks tho i had mine when i was 22 so 16 yrs ago lol.I was just racing all sorts off the traffic lights as not a lot could get near em. This was back in the day when astra GTE16vs were around and escort cossies were still considered rapid and impossible to insure , tho i live near a main cossie modifier in graham goode.
