VR6II 0
I've already got an oil temperature & oil pressure gauge to install but just wanted to know if anyone had any issues when fitting them with the sandwich/adaptor plate such as: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400273704477?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2188wt_952Has anyone had any issues with space when fitting the likes of this??...Ideally i'll like to fit them by this adaptor as it seems the easiest way? Lukey. 381
you do know theres an oil temp on the MFA? it would make a simpler much cleaner install by just replacing the low pressure sender ?jussayin
russj249 2
I think its in a mk2 mate.. personally, I would get hold of a couple of tpiece adapters that go in the 2 oil pressure switch holes. It's probably the easiest and cheapest way to go about it.I believe you will need an m10 x 1 threaded adapter, with the spout thread whatever thread your sensors are. It's the same fitting that most of us use for the turbo oil feed pipes. I'm on ny phone or I'd post up a link.. let me try find what I mean.
russj249 2
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oil-Pressure-Gauge-T-Piece-M10x1-050-M-/280770440398?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item415f38ecceSomething such as this.. this has an m10 thread on the bottom and top for standard oil pressure switch to screw into, and the side feed for gauge or temp sensor.. its this side feed you need to know the thread for before you buy any. russj249 2
Yea 2 switches on top of the oil filter housing. The thread on both of these is m10 x 1. The only reason a suggest this is because there's a help of a lot less work involved, and I know they work without leaks as that's exactly what I use for my turbo feed and there's not problem at all. With the one you suggested, I presume it goes in place of the original oil cooler.. not an issue, but it does mean you have by bypass the water lines into the cooler, which as I found out this weekend (when I fitted a 13 row Mocal oil cooler) unless you have a stainless crack pipe already, chances are you'll snap the spout off the plastic one trying to bypass the cooler and link the 2 pipes up! Lots of strip down work ahead of you then, 85 quid for a new stainless pipe, new coolant etc etc.. a lot of unwanted hassle.
