rbertnitro 0
Alrite. Ive been having some issues with my rear brakes recently and im not sure whats wrong or what parts to start looking at.I havent had the wheels off to inspect them yet but heres whats happening so far:Every morning i get a thump from rear left as if the brake is stuck a bit and its breaking free. Then for the first 5-10mins of driving when brakes applied i get a loud friction noise from front and rear (not metal to metalgrinding more like a normal braking sound amplified several times)During this 5-10mins the pedal feels fine but the handbrake is very tight and youd struggle to pull it onto the first click. After this though the handbrake goes loose and i get a good 3-4 clicks easily the above doesnt happen always but its 9/10 times. Now last night i was driving brakes all fine with good feel, then suddenly rear left started making a very loud grinding when braking with pedal, this time it sounded like harsh metal to metal scrapping. This morning though all was fine i had a quick look through the wheel and theres still a good 8-10mm of meat left on the pad,i still have this 5-10min heatup prob tho.it did make a really harsh grinding once since but it went away the next time i had to slow down. Also there seems to be a more of a louder braking noise when im pointing down steep hills and braking on the way down. All i can say so far is the fluid level is fine and to the eye looks clean enough.and the pedal feel and travel is spot on.Anyone with advice on whats happening and where to start would be great cheers.
