VR6II 0 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Share Posted September 19, 2011 Hello all, my first ownership of a Corrado vr6 so here goes!...I'm wondering how transferable the wheel bosses are with VW?I have a donor mk2 vr6 which is on a 'C' reg (1986) and wondered if the boss would fit on the 'rado?OR a 1991 mk2 Golf?...Any help would be much appriciated,Thanks Link to post Share on other sites

leon263 31 Posted October 10, 2013 Report Share Posted October 10, 2013 VW changed from the small spline steering column to the large spline version in 1988, so steering wheels from pre' 88 cars and those from post '88 cars are not immediately interchangeable. If you look at a post '88 car you will see that to achieve the large spline, a splined collar was simply pressed onto an early column. It is possible to remove the collar to make a late car small spline but you will need to remove the steering wheel and stalks and then use some kind of a puller and believe me, it is not an easy job. You can also make an early car large spline by sourcing and fitting the splined collar. Link to post Share on other sites
