disappointing figures

Recommended Posts

ran my car at the eastside vw rolling road day yesterday, overall it was a good day(bloody cold though) the graph from stealth said 211bhp and 201lb/ft so was hopin for anywhere near that!! but it ran a 195bhp and 180lb/ft i think i may hav some faults codes cauzin losses in both as the car stalls at idle after hard driving! it still feels as quick as when i first picked it up so i think i mite just forget bout yesterdays graph!

The rolling road day wasn't associated with Eastside VW in anyway, it was just organised on our website, and I wouldn't worry too much about your results, there's some uncertainty about the establishment it was held at, other respected tuners in Scotland have commented that the guy doesn't know his arse from his elbow. He managed to give the same car 3 different power figures over a few weeks, the figures being 20 bhp apart with nothing changing on the car. I'd take it down to Star Performance, if there's something wrong with your car, they'll be able to tell you exactly what it is, and how you can improve things, which is what running your car on a rolling road is all about in my opinion.

Nah, I could go on all night with stories about his ineptitude, I just didn't want him anywhere near my car let alone giving it punishment on his rollers, I only let people I trust get in my car. One of my mates was on his rollers with his Mk4 1.8T, Wallace kerbed his wheel taking it off the rollers, and then informed him he had a boost leak at 6500rpm, which funnily enough is where the rev limiter is. I never had any intention of going, or giving him any of my money after he ripped off one of my mates with a very poorly built exhaust he wouldn't give him a refund on.

I'm gonna try and organise a rolling road day at either Star Performance, or even Bedrock Veedubs when the weather gets better and make a day of it.

My wheels aren't liking the snow very much, had to coat them with WD40 just to make sure the grit, etc didn't stick to them.
