poll250 0
Has anyone changed from a 6 Pin to a 4 pin MAF on an OBD1 car? I think my car would run a lot better with a 4" housing (currently running 0.9 bar). From what I know, later VR Corrados got the 4 pin MAF with the CP ECU (as well as Immobiliser and different Lambda). Having searched around Vortex, I found some threads saying you could just swap the MAFs and wire up as follows:OBD1 6 Pin MAF 4 Pin MK3 Style MAFPin 1 ------(Brown/Yellow) ----------------> Pin 1 (Ground)Pin 2 ------(Brown/Blue) ------------------> Pin 2 (Signal Ground)Pin 3 ------(Red) --------------------------> Pin 4 (Signal)Pin 4 (Black)(Burn Off Trigger Wire)Pin 5 ------(Red/(Yellow or Blue) --------> Pin 3 (+12V)Pin 6 (Not Connected)Has anyone done this, or can you see a problem with it? UnitedMotorsport 55
You need to change the ECU too.
poll250 0
So I just need a CP ecu, and 4 pin MAF? I don't need to change engine wiring harness, lambda plug or add an immobiliser ring or anything?
agolebio 0
Hey did you finally swap to the newer style MAF?I actually managed to do it for my 94 corrado vr6. Exactly like you mentioned (took it off the vortex as well) how is it working for you??I did it because of turbo upgrade and I wanted to use US C2 software.....unfortunately it's not working the way it supposed to for me, not sure why. Seems like there is a problem in the software for TPS sensor (doesn't matter is I use stock chip or turbo one) - so I am wondering am I the only one with this issue? When I have TPS connected the car bogs down part throttle (lean condition showing on AFR gauge) between 3-4k, it's not happening at WOT and when I disconnect TPS....
