probert993 0 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Share Posted December 7, 2010 Basically i have a late 96 golf vr6 all windows were fully auto ie one touch all the way down one touch all way up, on drivers side a clip broke making reg useless so i went scrap yard and took one off a 95 golf mk3 gti, got it all in but noticed that its not one touch down and up etc , basically i have to keep pressing button to get it down all the way and same for back up.questions areWas there two types of regulator?? looked on vag cat all models have same part number.or are you meant to re program new regulator heard your meant to when plugging another inany advice gratefully appreciated guys thanks... probert993 0 Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 7, 2010 i did try that but no joy since found there is two differnt motors on vag cat 1H0959802A and 1h0959802, guessin one is full auto other isnt, i still have old motor have just removed it from old regulator , hopin can fit onto one in car now then will be full auto again?? guessin its only motor which controls way it goes up and down nothing else.. Dave_ciw 507 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Share Posted December 7, 2010 Yes mate the motors are interchangeable to the regs but be carefull remove all the torques correctly and there is piece that looks like it should be part of the motor but infact it must stay on the reg or it will all just uncoil and once that happens there is no putting it back together lol Link to post Share on other sites

probert993 0 Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 7, 2010 when i took old motor off i removed bout 5 torx screws then slowly pulled coiled wire off the spline , guessin i just repeat on one in car and carefully replace existing coil onto new motor spline then re attach that sound bout right mate Link to post Share on other sites

probert993 0 Posted December 8, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 8, 2010 what a nightmare , the coiled wire kept un tangling which made it hard and when i did get it together i had not made each side even so one side would come down before other , eventually did it this mornin -5 outside how sad am i ! Then after a lot of up and down to get glass right i managed to flatten my battery ! Got there in end tho lol ! Link to post Share on other sites
