FrostyCab 0
Now, I've had a fair few car not wanting to cool down on me but refreshingly this one doesn't want to get hot!Driving home today and I noticed that me temp gauge was only reading 75 to 80 max and the oil temp on the MAF was reading aroung 82 to 84.now yesterday it was running a normal 90ish (middle of the gauge) and oil temp was around 96.I'm guessing that the thermostat has jammed open but wanted to check if theres anything else I should check on the VR6 when changing this.As a matter of course I'm going to change the blue and yellow temp sensors as I have only just got the car and its a very high mileage with no history so just want to safe guard as I go. Anything else I should change?
Ben Seabrook 4
if your going to change the thermostat you might as well do the whole housing mate as the O rings often go and the plastic perishes
FrostyCab 0
Any idea how much from VW for the housing? Or can I get it from elsewhere?Been thinking about it as the bloody thing went pop on my old VR6 corrado leaving me and the wife stuck miles away from home with a toasted VR!
