headgasket replacement for a newbee

hello guys, just inherited a golf vr6 with bust headgasket. now i originally put the engine in for the guy as it was a tired 16valve so i'm handy with the spanners, i'm just not sure what headgasket to get as a replacement as i've heard the elring mls gasket is a better option, is this true and where do i get one from?
