Special K 81 0
:SDecided to have another productive day to day car jobs wise....yester day swapped cd players around which i just hadnt bothered doing till now. Today....using a thread off here (thats where the thanks vr6.oc comes in) i fixed my back passanger window. Window slightly drop have to pull up manually...bit annoying. Anyway used the fixing window regulator thread! Says its a bit ghetto using bit of rubber and cable tie..but hey....cost £0Did all the stripping down of the door panel, etc etc...to find.....a bloody piece of wood proping window up.....a piece of wood....picture rail at that...if cable tie is ghetto then what the Ficking hell is that.lolAnyway sorted it and wellllll happy, silly really but another jobs done..however a small cut was sustained after thinking i hadnt scraped, scratched or banged anything....mechanism back together, runner in one had window switch in the other,up, down,up,down....hah hah i mutter to myself only for it to autimatically lower itself .....arrrgh...yes onto the hand.Anyway long essay ver...im thinking i can now tackle wishbones coilies and discs all round on my own next week.lol
legvw 0
Well done mate, sounds like you had fun! And my misses vr does that, the windows got a mind of its own. But yeah, you'll be stripping the car next and doing a full re-build!! :-)

Special K 81 0
Oooo gav that gives me encouragment...if i can save on that then money towards chains etc...which im gutted need doing. Paul a re-build...what in epic preportions like yours...im thinking not as i popped the hood (ooo how american.lol) hand a look around the chain area...thinking,with a weekend and the thread and online help of this i can do the chains and clutch....seeing all the stuff on that side to come out etc....maybe not...lol leave the epic building to you and the hardcore crew. I have the ideas all the time for things for my cars and bikes but my brother in laws my mechanic and he always shoots my ideas down and seens i dont have the necessary knowledge and tools things stay the same.lol oh well...tbh right nowi just want it all running right
Special K 81 0
h and paul does the misses window...once put all the way down(which it does in one go if held like the fronts. Doesnt go all the way up on its own id imagine for child safety reasons!?!..however a window that drops all the way isnt child safe anywho.lol)...on putting the window up does it touch the top and then automatically drop to half way down???(once its done this once, take it to the top it stays.)....mine does now...lol bizarre. I even stripped it back down ligtnening quick full of cofidence, put the motor all the way down back up,to half way down, lol then back up and then reffited hoping that may stop it..it didnt...but at least it works.Oh and the bit of wood now witteld down to kindling for the coal fire...which is hanf=dy...HA hA

Special K 81 0
Ha ha ben thanks only a small job but something thats needed to be done tbh and its a small satisfaction.lol If im honest if i had my parts here for things i have to do i think i would have cracked on. frustrating waiting to do things....plus i have plans on things i want to do with it but they have to wait till things done that make it not poorly again.lol
legvw 0
Don't think it for child safety, not on the drivers window mate! Its either the switch or something to do with the mechanism.
Special K 81 0
its the rear drivers side is the culprit, thats why i mentioned child safety. Anyway small price to pay for having it working on the button from a cable tie.lol
Lukey. 381
my window did that and i fully dismantled the regulator, the cable was wound up over itself on the reel inside the motor, after re-assembly it works smooth, maybe try this. You definitely will cut yourself to shreds doing this though lol
